K-12
The global race to produce technologically savvy graduates is on! America is no exception, but we are losing our edge. Innovation has been the key to the rise of every great civilization. Applied math and science are the foundation of all technological learning. Our goals are to encourage visibility of the engineering profession in the classroom, increase the number of students entering the engineering field, provide resources to help educators teach engineering at all levels, and to make it fun!
Visit the K-12 Website to learn more about Engineering for Students.
MATHCOUNTS
MATHCOUNTS is providing today’s students with the foundation for success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers. MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, club and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory.
Visit the national Math Counts Website for more information.
Golf Tournament
Once a year, the Palm Beach FES Chapter hosts there golf tournament. Professionals from various engineering disciplines partake by donating funds for deserving students.
Since 1989, the Palm Beach Chapter has awarded over $200,000 to high school and college students to help with their education. These scholarships have helped students pay for tuition, books and other fees so that they could be more dedicated to their studies. Please reach out to Raj Krishnasamy for more information about the 2022 golf tournament!
Scholarship Night
Florida Engineering Society scholarships inspire and encourage the pursuit of an education focused on engineering. Each year the Palm Beach Chapter presents scholarships to local high school and college students who have chosen engineering as their major course of study. This scholarship is named in honor of Dick Rogers, PE: an engineer who contributed greatly to profession. The scholarship program is funded by the generous donations of our chapter partners, through the annual golf tournament and private donations
Shrimp Boil
This seafood dish is a combination of shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes cook with various spices. The Annual Shrimp Boil Event has roots dating back to some 40 years and thanks to FES’s members, the legacy of this event lives on. “Great family fun, delicious food, my kids had a blast, awesome live music” – just some of the feedback constantly received for this event.
Legislative Breakfast
The Legislative Breakfast provides a chance to meet our local legislators, share opinions, receive information on the latest legislative issues concerning design professionals, and learn what’s in store for the upcoming Florida Legislative Session.
FES promotes and defends the professional interests of all engineers in the state of Florida. To do so, we maintain a strong and effective voice with the legislature.
